The Magma API is a freely available system for requesting information on online video statistics and other information gathered by our application. These methods can help identify, gather, and display information related to sites (channels), specific videos, and more.

Our current version of the API is read-only, however we plan to roll out read/write features for Magma users very soon!
 

REST Methods

Search

• search - Searching method to find videos based on query parameters.

Video Identification

Note: Video identification can return either Magma video information or Magma instances information. Please read more about how we categorize videos and instances.

• info - Get the known information for a video instance or all collected instances.
• embed - Get the known embed code for a video instance.
• thumbnail - Get the known thumbnail for a video instance.

Magma Video Information

• video - Get known information for a Magma video (collection of all associated instances).

Magma Channel Information

• leaderboard - Get list of the top videos by interval.
• mustwatch - Get list of the hottest videos to watch now.
• channel - Get Magma channel information, including list of channel videos.
